Eat, Pray, Love.

I enjoy most genres but particularly favour, Frank Sinatra, Celine Dion, Michael Buble, Bob Marley and Peter Tosh. My only DISLIKE is the DOOF DOOF music!

My Uncle Victor is someone who really makes me laugh from my tummy.  He has an incredibly dry sense of humour.

“Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain” (I recently read this latter quote and it’s such a great ‘pick me up’)

 I was born in the Union of South Africa in 1961, a day before the country became a Republic and attended Kloof Junior Primary, Kloof Senior Primary and spent most of my high school career at St Mary’s in KZN.
In Primary School, I had this amazing teacher, Mrs. MacLean.  I think her special qualities were her great love for children, her patience, and her exceptional kindness.  
I had a real teenage crush on a boy called Robin.  Blue eyes, blond hair!  He obviously was a firm favorite with lots of girls, so it always remained just a crush!

In 1984 I married my husband Paul and we have just celebrated our 25th Wedding Anniversary.  His kind, gentle and caring manner are what drew me to him.  He also writes beautiful poetry.  Often I will arrive home from a busy day at the office, to find dinner cooked, (Oh, by the way, did I also mention, he is an amazing cook), a bubble bath run, and a glass of champagne waiting.  
We have been blessed with two boys, Tim, who is now 24 years old.  Tim works for 2Simple, and will be moving to Cape Town in January to open a 2Simple office there.  We are a very close family so I will really miss his input in our Gauteng offices, as well as our family weekends, and Matt who is 14.  Matt attends St John’s College in Johannesburg.
I owned and managed a large Nursery School for 14 years, and a couple of years ago, decided I needed to focus on reaching out to more children.

I am a Director of 2Simple South Africa (A software Company that specializes in children’s educational software). I am also involved in a training company that teaches young learners computer skills and also involved in the 2Simple Trust in South Africa.  My involvement with the Trust, focuses on schools without IT Centers, so I identify the needs of the schools, source computers, software or IT related goods, liaise with the staff at schools, train teachers and the initial training of the learners in those schools
I am privileged to live out a dream, of working with children (a passion for me), and at the same time, make a difference with education.

I love reading, and belong to a book club, although more socializing takes place there than books!  I am an outdoor person, and believe that life flies by so take time out to make the most of each and every day.  I have run  Comrades, Bungee jumped off Vic Falls, swum the Midmar Mile, scuba dived in some great places, climbed Kilimanjaro and now am so looking forward to climbing 5 peaks in 5 days.
